Brick Church Schoolhouse Today

After leaving Wall Street, I spent several years exploring other industries by working as a contractor, consultant and internal consultant specializing in project management and business analysis.  Clients and employers included Lucent, AT&T, Dow Jones, Astra Zeneca and IMS Health, among others.  I learned a lot and met many wonderful people, and became deeply involved in project management and PMI.

In 2000 I launched Schoolhouse Consulting & Training (named after my house, The Brick Church Schoolhouse, which was a school from around 1859 until 1957, and is now my living room) in 2000.  I worked with a number of organizations as a free-lance consultant and trainer and traveled around the world sharing my passion for excellence in project management, leadership and business analysis.  My travels took me to China, where there were a handful of PMPs (one of the first acted as a translator for me in one class) and a passion for the subject and one of my classes created an award for me and threw me a memorable party!  I also trained and consulted throughout Europe and in Central and South America as well as all over the US.  I have worked with a wonderful variety of organizations and clients in industries ranging from energy to finance to pharmaceuticals and medical products to heavy industry equipment manufacturing.  I’ve had the privilege to learn from each of my engagements as I shared my own knowledge and experience to the mutual satisfaction of all.

Through my colleagues, mentors, friends and my own curiosity I have developed interests in a variety of topics beyond traditional business and have studied with many wonderful teachers in my quest to know more about our humanity and what that brings to our work.  I have become qualified in the Myers-Briggs instrument, the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument and the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test.  I have studied Neuro-linguistic programming with Richard Bandler and the Enneagram and Nine Domains with Don Riso and Russ Hudson.  I studied coaching practices with James Flaherty of New Ventures West and became certified as a professional coach. I’ve also become certified as a yoga teacher, to enrich my own practice and deepen my understanding of the interaction of the mind, spirit and body.   My new work includes the Diamond Approach and my continued self-study of the brain and mind, learning styles, organizational dynamics and the human spirit.
